More than just a gym, we’re a place for kids to grow! Whether you or your child is a gymnast (ages 1-100!), a tumbler (7-17), or an energetic ninja (4-13), our goal is to teach new skills in an environment that feels like home.
real instruction, no pressure.
About us
Flipper’s Gymnastics is a facility founded on the philosophy that you don’t have to compete to enjoy gymnastics. We provide instruction using a skills-progression methodology, which teaches skills in the proper order. This, in turn, allows the body to adapt and strengthen, which reduces the risk of injury caused by trying higher level skills before one is ready.

With over 40 years of experience in the gymnastics world, owner Debby Bassin created and runs Flipper’s Gymnastics. Debby’s diverse background includes a degree in International Business, along with positions in Human Resources, Project Management, and Consulting. In addition, Debby has had fun as a Beer Educator, Camp Gymnastics Specialist, and Dance/Acro teacher. While raising her two children, Debby was a dedicated volunteer in the schools, and a Girl Scout leader. Favorite hobbies include singing, dancing, and meeting new people.

Office Manager
Shanta
Hi everyone! I’m thrilled to be joining the Flipper’s team this year. My background is deeply rooted in the performing arts, particularly in dynamic movement, dance, and creative physical activities. I recently completed my Master of Arts in Theatre at Montclair State University and am also an active theatre artist and actor. Outside of the gym, I enjoy spending quality time exploring new adventures.

He has a strong passion for the sport and loves to help his students improve physically, mentally and spiritually through progressive gymnastics movement.

Instructor
Kendall
Hi I'm Kendall! This is my 10th year at Flipper's but 3rd year as an instructor. I was a gymnast at Flipper's when they first opened back in 2017 as well as a former dancer. I now do sideline and competitive cheer. I go to Mary Help of Christians Academy and will graduate in 2028. Something fun about me is that I love to go to the beach!

Junior Instructor
Katelyn
I started Flipper's around 2018 and stopped during covid but I came back last year! I also did dance for 8 years and I am a Freshman at Suffern High School! Something fun about myself is that I have been to 4 countries!
